Agency Celebrates Service Project at Building Independence October 28

On Thursday, Oct. 28, almost 50 members of Agency staff participated in a service project to install landscaping for Building Independence in Raleigh. This extreme landscape makeover transformed the property and the residents of Building Independence. In addition, this site also sits at the entrance to a new Habitat for Humanity development in Raleigh. 

The day by the numbers:

  • 48 volunteers from the Agency
  • 31 trees planted
  • 130 plants and shrubs planted
  • 27 cubic yards of mulch spread
  • 9 pallets of sod delivered
  • 4,500 square feet of lawn rolled out
  • 1,000 sod staples installed
