To reinforce the connection between housing and health and help parents keep their kids healthy, HUD has kicked off its second annual National Healthy Homes Month. Throughout June, HUD will raise awareness of what makes a home healthy and strengthen coordination and collaboration between housing and health.
This year’s theme, "Just What the Doctor Ordered," highlights the vital role that pediatricians and the health community play in healthy homes education, particularly regarding home-related health risks such as asthma and lead poisoning. HUD also offers a National Healthy Homes Month Planning Guide, with resources and materials for building awareness at the local level and a Healthy Homes Basics App
(available on Apple iTunes and Google Play).
