City of Kannapolis Recognized for Investments in Housing Rehabilitation

On February 13, 2017, a plaque ceremony was held in recognition of the 25-year partnership between the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency and the City of Kannapolis. This ceremony was to commemorate the investment of more than $1 million that has helped more than 100 local families with housing rehabilitation. These investments yield tremendous savings. With a very modest amount of money, modifications and emergency repairs can help keep very low income seniors or citizens with disabilities in their homes and out of institutions.

The ceremony was held at the home of Ms. Willis, who was able to live independently in her home thanks to a long standing partnership of the Agency and the City of Kannapolis. Present at the event were Senator Paul Newton, Mayor Darrell Hinnant, Manager Mike Legg and members of city and Agency staff.

To date, the NC Housing Finance Agency has impacted the lives of more than 255,000 North Carolina families, and made repairs to 31,000 homes.
